About the Gala
The idea behind Labor Mobilis Honorary Award is to appreciate outstanding achievements and special contributions to labour mobility and free provision of services, which employ more than 340 000 Poles in the EU Member States and secure existence of 24 000 of Polish companies.
Labor Mobilis statuette was handed out twice so far – in 2013 and 2014. During the two first editions of the Competition among the laureates were:
2014: Radosław Mleczko, awarded 'for a fierce defence of the freedom to provide services in the European Union and of hundreds of thousands of jobs in Poland'.
2013: Danuta Jazłowiecka, awarded ‘for her steadfast commitment and struggle over the enforcement directive with the goal of maintaining a healthy balance between protection of workers’ rights and the freedom to provide services in the EU’.
The laureate of Labor Mobilis Award is chosen by the Competition Jury, which includes representatives from the world of politics, science, business and administration. Honorary Member of the Jury is prominent Polish economist, Prof. Jerzy Hausner.
The Statuette Awarding Ceremony takes place during official Labor Mobilis Gala, held at the Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow. The event is accompanied by a rich artistic programme. In 2014 Marek Grechuta Songs Recital, performed by the laureate of Grechuta Festival, Karolina Laszko, and Paweł Piątek, composer and the pianist of Marek Grechuta, as well as by the finalist of ‘Got Talent’ show, Kasia Sochacka added splendour to this event. The recital was held under the patronage of Ms. Danuta Grechuta.
